Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
Template notice: this reflects the cookies our codebase actually sets today. If you add analytics, advertising, or any non-essential tracking script later, update this table and add a consent banner before those cookies load — strictly-necessary cookies (like the ones below) generally do not require consent under GDPR/ePrivacy, but analytics/marketing cookies do.
This policy explains the cookies GenClear sets in your browser and why. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies we use
We currently use only strictly necessary cookies — small pieces of data stored in your browser that are required for the Service to function. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use third-party analytics cookies on the site.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
genclear_session | Keeps you signed in and identifies your account on each request. | 30 days |
genclear_guest | Identifies an anonymous (no-account) session so we can apply the one-free-clean limit and show your guest job status. | 30 days |
session (OAuth state) | Short-lived cookie used only during Google sign-in to protect against cross-site request forgery. | Cleared after sign-in completes |
2. Cookies set by third parties
If you go through checkout, Stripe may set its own cookies on the Stripe-hosted checkout and billing-portal pages (outside our domain) for fraud prevention and to run their payment forms. Those are governed by Stripe's Cookie Policy. If you sign in with Google, Google may set cookies on its own sign-in pages, governed by Google's Cookie Policy.
3. Managing cookies
Because we only use strictly-necessary cookies, disabling them will break core functionality (you won't be able to stay signed in or use the anonymous free-clean tier). You can still clear or block cookies at any time from your browser settings, but expect some features to stop working.
4. Changes to this policy
If we start using analytics or marketing cookies in the future, we will update this page and request consent where required before those cookies are set.
