Refund Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
Template notice: consumer withdrawal/refund rights for digital subscriptions differ significantly by country (for example, EU consumers normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services, which can be lost once you expressly consent to immediate performance — you must present that consent clearly at checkout if you want to rely on it). Have this section reviewed by a lawyer for every country you sell into.
This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for GenClear Pro subscriptions. It applies alongside our Terms of Service.
1. Free tier — no payment, no refund needed
The anonymous and registered free tiers do not require payment, so no refund applies. If a free job fails or no supported watermark is detected, any credit spent is automatically refunded to your account — you don't need to contact us for that.
2. Cancelling your Pro subscription
You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from Account → Manage subscription, which opens Stripe's secure billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep Pro access until the end of the billing period you already paid for.
3. Refunds
- Within 14 days of your first payment: if you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that grants a statutory withdrawal/cooling-off period for digital subscriptions, and you have not made substantial use of Pro features (e.g. unlimited processing, priority queue, API access) during that time, contact us at [email protected] and we will refund that payment.
- After that period, or once you have made substantial use of Pro: payments are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or at our discretion (for example, a billing error, a duplicate charge, or a proven and sustained Service outage during your billing period).
- Renewals: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled beforehand. We do not refund a renewal you forgot to cancel, but if you contact us promptly after an unwanted renewal we will consider a goodwill refund on a case-by-case basis.
- Yearly plans: if you cancel partway through a prepaid year, you keep access until the end of the paid term; we do not provide partial-period refunds except as required by law or at our discretion.
4. How to request a refund
Email [email protected] from the address on your account with your account email and the approximate date of the charge. We aim to respond within 5 business days. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method via Stripe and may take several business days to appear on your statement.
5. Chargebacks
Please contact us before filing a chargeback with your bank or card issuer — we can usually resolve billing issues faster directly. Accounts with a fraudulent or unresolved chargeback may be suspended.
6. Contact
